Our actuarial department offers a comprehensive range of actuarial services, ranging from those necessary to meet the statutory requirements of running a defined benefits scheme to complex asset and liability modelling.

These services are provided by Trigon Actuarial Limited (TAL) which is a full subsidiary of Trigon under a Joint Venture with Hughes Price Walker Limited (HPW).

As well as being adept at combining mathematical models and qualitative reasoning to analyse current and future positions in funds, our actuarial team is able to explain its work in laymen’s terms, putting trustees and companies in the best possible position to manage risk and uncertainty.

Hughes Price Walker Limited (HPW)

Established in 1998, HPW is an independent specialist provider of actuarial services to the pensions industry.  Based in Bristol, the practice was founded to meet a growing need by small and medium sized companies and their pension schemes for a cost-effective and quality actuarial consulting service.

HPW is a member of the Association of Consulting Actuaries. HPW also have accreditation under the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' Quality Assurance Scheme (QAS) which demonstrates our commitment to assurance in the quality of all actuarial work we carry out and ensures we continue to provide the highest quality of advice to our Clients, whilst maintaining the high standards of professionalism which is achieved throughout Trigon.

Our actuarial services are not regulated by The Financial Conduct Authority. This means that clients receiving these services are not covered by The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and may not have recourse to The Financial Ombudsman Scheme or The Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
